Foundation Learning at Hedley Hall Training

Who is it for?
People aged 16 - 18 who are not in education, employment or training in the BANES and Bristol area (or may be in danger of disengaging).

What is involved?
Hedley Hall Training is working in partnership with the City of Bristol College. Each young person will be enrolled at the College and have access to the usual benefits of being a student.

Each young person will have an individual tutor who will help them design a programme of activities to help them move on. The tutor will also be responsible for delivering either Functional Skills in Maths, English or ITC, the ASDAN Community Volunteering Qualification, ASDAN Employability Qualification or ASDAN Personal and Social Development Qualification.

A programme could include the following:

  • Individual support
  • Tailor made courses
  • Sports including martial arts
  • Self development programmes
  • Work experience or  Voluntary work
  • Art and drama projects
  • Referral to specialist providers
  • Signposting to other specialised areas of support

Payments to young people:
Travel, by agreement, can be paid. This is money paid to NEET students who are on the Foundation Learning Programme.
